no baby in the street / ingen bäbis på gatan
[archives]
valeveil understands: times are tight. it is becoming more difficult to justify giving anyone your
lunch money when you're tired of spam and crackers. we won't eat your spam, but we can offer you a poetic act of love,
a bit sentimental in its structure in return for your donation. valeveil will give words FROM you TO others
in stockholm.
we hope that you'll consider contributing to our first public fund raiser no baby in the street /
ingen bäbis på gatan. the title originates from an early morning walk in södermalm,
overhearing the defiant words spoken by a small child walking with her attentive father.
these words might make one think: what else is missing from these streets? what belongs in the streets?
valeveil hopes to raise funds for our future publishing projects.
stockholm is inspiring but a little on the hush-hush side. some find its quietude romantic and placating.
some don't. valeveil would like to intervene in some of its found spaces with words in tribute to your generosity.
we will read a poem of your choice to those who may or may not witness firsthand our mini-tribute to you.
choose the poem (please limit your poem to five pages or less), and valeveil chooses (and maps)
a specific stockholm location to read your poem. we will dedicate each poem to its contributor before each reading.
someone in stockholm will hear your kindness — perhaps another who appreciates your affinity for literature.
how it works:
- email support [at] valeveil [dot] se the following info:
