Concept
Death Book includes obituaries that the artist discovered at a local flea market. The artist’s name ‘Kim Ekberg’ was inserted and placed over the actual names of the deceased. This gesture of cutting and pasting her name into the obituary sections found at the market is Ekberg’s way of coping with her personal beast—which in this case is individualism—and encompasses the idea that every name equals a life which is as precious and valuable as the one which the artist now lives.

Bio
Kim Ekberg was born and raised in the woodlands of Kolmården. She was schooled as a documentary filmmaker, which is vital inspiration for her creativity today.
